Empowering Student Athletes to Thrive!

Our Student Athlete Thrive Lab – a comprehensive Performance and Life Coaching program – is designed exclusively for student athletes.

We understand that the journey of a student athlete is multifaceted, encompassing not only sports performance but also mental well-being and personal growth. This is why our Thrive Lab takes a holistic approach, focusing on mental health to empower student athletes with the tools they need to excel in every aspect of their lives.

In the fast-paced world of student athletics, mental health is often overlooked. Yet, it’s the cornerstone of peak performance and overall well-being. The Thrive Lab addresses this crucial gap by equipping young athletes with the mental resilience, emotional intelligence, and confidence they need to succeed – both on the field and in their personal lives.

About Our Coaching Programs for Student Athletes

Our signature program offers a combination of 1-1 coaching and group coaching for 13-17 year olds.

Our program will help your teen:

  • Set goals and an action plan

  • Develop a growth mindset

  • Learn to manage emotions and negative thought habits

  • Develop resiliency

  • Practice becoming more self reliant

  • Adopt empowerment tools like mindfulness, setting boundaries, and communication skills

  • Have a space to vent to an objective person in a safe space just for them

Our Solution:

The first few appointments are 45 minutes to an hour while we get to know one another and begin to develop goals

From there, we’ll meet each week for 30-45 minutes to review goals and discuss personal progress. If your teen needs to vent, I will give them the space to do so but we will always wrap each call with discussing the next best step.

Plus, your teen will have the ability to check in with me via text weekly.

Your teen will also have the option of joining our weekly peer group where we’ll discuss a variety of topics with the goal of opening communication and eliminating isolation and loneliness.

Our program for 18+ year olds is very similar to our program for 13-17 year olds except that we offer Advanced Support for their transition into life as young adults.

Our solution includes everything in our 13-17 YO program plus:

  • Introductions to guest coaches and professionals who may be able to provide additional mentoring in specific areas of collegiate and career development.

  • Text check-ins as needed.

Peer groups can provide numerous benefits for young adults and teens. Firstly, they offer a sense of belonging and support, which can be crucial during a period of life where individuals may feel isolated or misunderstood. Secondly, peer groups can promote personal growth and development by exposing individuals to diverse perspectives and experiences. This can help them develop a better understanding of themselves and the world around them. Thirdly, peer groups can provide opportunities for individuals to practice social and communication skills, which are essential for future success in relationships and the workplace. Finally, peer groups can serve as a safe space for individuals to discuss difficult topics or seek guidance from others who may be going through similar experiences. Overall, peer groups can have a positive impact on the mental, emotional, and social well-being of young adults and teens.

About our peer groups:

  • Virtual or in-person (pending availability in your area)

  • 30-60 minutes (pending group size)

  • Scheduled on a recurring basis on a set day and time just for your group

  • Facilitated by Coach Misty and friends including former collegiate and pro athletes

  • Confidentiality is emphasized

  • Weekly content is presented by the facilitators with the goal of allowing each participant to speak

Student Athlete Mental Health Resources for Parents, Kids and Teens

Journal & Sketchbook

The Mental Health Journal and Sketchbook For Kids is a fantastic way to get children talking about their mental health with prompts and questions designed to explore the child’s life. With space for gratitude, the journal encourages positivity in children and gets them thinking about what they are thankful for. The journal also features enough blank pages so that kids can express their emotions as they wish whether that is through drawing or writing.

Easy Breathing Exercise For Kids

In this video, Coach Misty shows a breathing exercise for kids that she came up with for a youth football camp. It’s a great way to help children relax and calm down. The exercise is simple and only takes a few minutes. It’s a great way to help kids learn how to breathe properly to calm their nervous system.
